Develop fundamental knowledge and tools on the behaviour of multiphase systems involved in the processes of building materials, and on the dynamics of liquids and suspensions used in wet coatings processes
This research axis investigated the properties of complex fluids, such as the dynamic of dry and wet granular materials, drying of thin films and polymer solutions, liquid crystals.
Our most recent activities in this area cover the following topics:
- Blending liquid with grains
- Mixing dry grains
- Marangoni effects during the drying of thin liquid films
- Drying of polymer solutions
- Topological defects within colored composite matrices comprised of LCs, polymer networks, and plasmonic nanoparticles
